Project Description

The aim of the project is to develop energy labels for plastic manufacturing machines in order to leverage energy efficient facilities.
Energy labels raise the customer's awareness for energy efficiency, so that they will consider energy efficiency for future investment decisions. Most of the times operating cost for energy is not taken into account.
Project Data and Goals:
  • Energy labels for plastic products
  • Benchmarking and quantifying

  • Developing efficiency criteria

  • Energy analysis of measurements
  • Energy Label at the K'07
    (October 22nd, 2007)
At the world's largest plastic fair energy labels for two different types of facilities were presented and exhibited.
This first step defined and assessed only quantifiable efficiency criteria and activities.

    Developing Efficiency Criteria
    (September 17th, 2007)
The development of efficiency criteria is essential for assessing and classifying energy consumption categories.
Essential is the distinction between quantifiable and qualifiable activities. Basis for the criteria development are energy measurements.
