Overall description
The wind park Berg is located on agriculturally used areas of the community Berg, centrally located between the villages Berg, Kittsee and Edelstal. The Slovakia border and Bratislava
are just a few kilometres away. In the immediate vicinity are the wind parks Prellenkirchen, Pama and Kittsee.

    10th turbine for the wind park Berg
    (July 9th, 2010)
    Representatives of the community Berg, Raiffeisen-Leasing, Energiewerkstatt and PROFES celebrated the grid-connection of the new wind turbine, a Vestas V90 with a capacity of 2,000 kW. Thus, the wind park Berg produces further environmental-friendly electricity for additional 1,500 households.
    Expansion of wind parks Berg and Scharndorf: foundations are ready!

    The foundations are finalised for two addtional wind energy plants in Scharndorf and Berg shortly after the construction was started. For each foundation 50 tons armouring irons and more than 400m³ concrete have been inserted.

    As a consequence of establishing a new renewable energy feed-in tariff additional wind turbines of the type Vestas V90-2 MW will be built up in the wind parks Berg and Scharndorf. As a matter of fact the comprehensive and detailed advance planning has been worthwile. Both PROFES and Raiffeisen-Leasing are looking forward to the construction of the wind turbines this summer.

    After heavy negotiations with authorities all permits for errecting one additional wind energy plant of the type Vestas V90 2MW at the wind parks Scharndorf and Berg have been accepted and signed. However, the renewable energy sources act not yet in place prevents the erection of these new wind energy plants - a decision by the political leaders is necessary and very urgent!

    By the end of may the citizens of the communities surrounding the wind park have the opportunity to participate in the wind park project with amounts between 1.000 and 10.000 Euro.

    Glorious sunshine, cosy atmosphere, a social program with excellent wine and entertaining amusements inspired numerous visitors of the grand opening ceremony.
    Furthermore the wind-energy-lane, designed by PROFES was opened.

    Wind park Berg: All 9 wind turbines in operation (Vestas V80)

    The mild autumn helped a lot that all 9 wind turbines in Berg could deliver clean electricity starting in middle of November. This was the starting signal for the wind park to produce approximately 40.000.000 kWh every year.

    First turbine completely mounted
    (October 1st, 2005)
    Today the assembling of the first out of nine wind energy plants Vestas V80 could be finished after the successful completion of all fundaments, the internal wind park cabling and the building of lanes as well as the assembling areas. The construction of the whole wind park should be finished by the end of October.

    Ground breaking ceremony
    (August 8th, 2005)
    The ground breaking ceremony, exposed to force wind, sporadic rain and sun shine, was conducted as a symbol for the construction of the wind park Berg. After the complimentary speeches of the mayor Hartl, DI Wychera (Profes) and the CEO Mag. Engert of Raiffeisen-Leasing more than 100 guests celebrated the wind park kick off.
    Legally binding of the nature conservation notification
    (December 27th, 2004)
    From this day on the favourably nature conservation notification, issued in December, is legally binding.
    Consequently the wind park construction is planned for the summer 2005.
    E-Law negotiations conducted
    (March 24th, 2004)
    After finishing considerably plannings and applying for carrying out the necessary electrical legal formalities, an oral E-Law proceeding was accomplished at the restaurant "Burkhart" in Berg.
    Legally binding of the designation of areas
    (March 1st, 2003)
    After the approbation of the designation of areas for the wind energy plant positions by the provincial government the designation of areas became final at March 1st, 2003. There were no objections during the proceeding.
