Overall description
In spring 2004 the provincial government in Burgenland approved the north-eastern part of Nikitsch as a
wind energy zone. This zone is located on a small, agriculturally used hill next to the border to Hungary.
The designated area provides room for up to 16 wind turbines in the megawatt category. The actual
amount of wind turbines will be determined by further detailed planning.

    The project "wind park Nikitsch" and the model for the lease contract were presented to the land owners today.
    Right after the presentation and a lively discussion about half of the attendees gave their written approval for using their premises - an extraordinary successful start.

    (July 7th, 2005)
    Today there was a presentation of the planned wind park Nikitsch for the inhabitants. Afterwards PROFES, Raiffeisen-Leasing and the mayor Balogh answered questions. PROFES is very pleased about the lively interest of the, with about 150 people well attended, road show.
    Signing the principle agreement with the municipal
    (June 24th, 2005)
    At today´s evening the principle agreement for assembling the wind park Nikitsch was signed between the project partners Raiffeisen-Leasing and the municipal. Wind park Nikitisch is the first wind park for PROFES as the project developer in Burgenland. The further project development, like the installation of a wind measurement system and a road show for the citizens will follow the underwriting of the principle agreement.
